Why Nesa Switched To Vagaro For Her Online Booking Software
Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Nesa is currently balancing mum-life with being an entrepreneur, running her beauty business from a spare room in her house, which she has glamorously transformed into a treatment room.
The vibes in her makeshift salon are very professional; the second you walk in you feel at home and relaxed, but also in good hands as she ensures all the correct forms have been filled out and that you are aware of your patch test results taken 24 hours before. Relaxation music softly fills your ears as you lay back on the treatment bed, the lights are dimmed slightly and multicoloured lights display on the ceiling—the perfect self-care setting! It’s too cute, very cosy and very clean. The best feature in the room by far has got to be the wall art piece of beautifully lashed eyes with the quote, “lashes make everything better.” What a perfect way to set the scene and, well, she isn’t wrong, is she?
So, what’s Nesa’s story? How has she managed to become this boss of her one-woman business and fall into the very capable hands of Vagaro?
‘’Treatwell would put offers on my products without letting me know, and then take a third or more, plus commission rates off any new customers. I worked out my weekly earnings and Treatwell actually took a higher percentage of what I was earning than I did!’’ says Nesa, ‘‘And I am looking forward to getting new customers with Vagaro. I also like that the system is easy to use.’’
Nesa was born in Kosovo, where she qualified as a beautician (lash & brow tech, masseuse) and a hairdresser. She came to the UK for better prospects, after she met the man of her dreams.
‘’His parents were also born in Kosovo, and he was on holiday in my country when we met. I wanted to marry this man, but it meant emigrating to England. As it turns out, beauticians can earn a lot more money in the UK. For example, a simple cut & blow dry in Albania would cost only around £4, so it’s not very profitable.’’
Nesa’s story is an impressive one, full of inspiration as she presents herself as the epitome of the age-old saying, “hard work pays off.” Nesa came to England not speaking the native tongue, and if that wasn’t challenging enough, her qualifications were not valid under UK regulations, so she had to start from the very beginning.
“I had to do all of my Levels 1, 2 & 3 again,” she says, “and I was learning English as I went along. I had to learn English so quickly otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to complete the written parts of the coursework or exams. The thing is, looking good speaks for itself in a language the whole world can understand. It just doesn’t work like that when it comes to getting officially qualified.”
“I’m not the best with computers. I really enjoyed sitting down with a member of the Vagaro Team and getting my training. All training & support is included in my monthly subscription, so it doesn’t cost any extra.” Nesa explained—and she’s right! You won’t get that sort of treatment from any of the other software on the market. They may charge for their support, or you’ll be on hold for long periods of time. Vagaro’s 24/7 support & training is available free of charge within your monthly package and all calls are answered within three minutes. Nesa’s training is also ongoing; she is going to be talking to the Vagaro team about setting up forms for patch tests, and more, in the coming weeks.
Now a mum of two, Nesa can block out times in her diary through Vagaro where she is unavailable. She’s taken full advantage of building up her web page which is displayed on the Vagaro Marketplace with gorgeous pics that display her brand and skills! She also works once a month at a hairdressing salon in London, so she’s able to negate that day from her diary on the Vagaro Pro app as well.
The next five years look really promising for Nesa. She plans to convert her shed in the garden to create a bigger space for her treatments. And as she spends the next few years getting found, booked & paid with Vagaro, she plans to expand further by opening her own salon. If her dedication and commitment to her passion so far is anything to go by, she will achieve it, no problem.
