More Than An Outlook: Be Rosy Elevates Nail Care & Makeup
When you step inside Be Rosy, you know you aren’t in a typical nail salon. It’s not just the cleanliness, great lighting or absence of that harsh chemical smell, either. The luxurious pedicure chairs with copper bowls, long wood manicuring table and organic skincare ingredients all look foraged rather than bought to create the atmosphere of an intimate, natural self-care setting.
You don’t come here to book a quick mani/pedi or makeup application. In fact, you might not even want to leave—and that’s exactly what Be Rosy’s founder, Catherine Dambrosia, has in mind.
“Within this market, there really wasn’t a place for wellness—or not the way I had envisioned it,” Dambrosia said.
That vision combines self-care, environmental sustainability, clean ingredients, and educating clients on what is best for their skin & nails. All makeup and nail polishes used at Be Rosy are designated as Clean Beauty products. All scrubs, soaks, oils and masks are carefully crafted from certified organic ingredients, like jojoba, safflower, and rosehip oils.

“Customizing products and services like that may take longer, but it’s worth it,” said Dambrosia.
Catherine never doubted that she’d get her Pacific Palisades community to embrace Be Rosy’s blend of informed self-care and clean beauty when she opened in 2019. She poured everything into her business that she learned in her 25 years of working for major cosmetic companies and as a makeup artist for television, fashion shows & other venues.
She had passion, knowledge and a dedicated staff in place, but those elements make up only half of the equation for running a successful business.
“There is a lot to consider when starting a business, and one of them, obviously, is making sure that you have a good system in place,” she said.

“Add-Ons are really important to my business because they help us run a lot more smoothly than we used to,” she said.
Dambrosia explained how, previously, her clients would book services like gel manicures, forgetting to also book a gel removal when necessary.
Other clients would book immediately after, so we couldn't accommodate the gel removal. On busy days, which are common, this usually meant that Catherine’s staff either couldn’t accommodate the gel removal at all or had to delay the very next appointment. This caused a ripple effect that, by simply having the Add-On visible on the service menu of their booking page, Be Rosy can avoid.
“With this little bit of knowledge, they can go ahead and add the feature,” Catherine said. “This ensures a pleasant, stress-free experience for everybody.”
Weightless Wait List
Be Rosy enjoys a loyal customer base and a consistently full schedule. Which is great news, except that Be Rosy is a smaller salon that doesn’t have the luxury of a dozen or more technicians on staff.
Clients often call in to request to be added to Be Rosy’s waitlist—until they realized they could easily do that themselves by using the Vagaro app.
“As soon as something like a cancellation comes up, the client is automatically booked,” Dambrosia said.

Prepping for The Future
Catherine Dambrosia’s goal is to grow Be Rosy’s services beyond the realm of manicures, pedicures and makeup.
She is thinking about expanding the number of onsite educational workshops and events she offers, and perhaps introducing a line of products under the Be Rosy name. What she isn’t thinking about is how she’ll manage an increase in clients, growing staff, nor where her booking system will be able to handle the uptick or whether her marketing emails will be sent on time.
